On June 9, 2026, they discovered Sanchez-Juarez's remains. An autopsy confirmed the cause of death was homicide.
On August 26, 2026, officers took Flores into custody. The Alameda County District Attorney's Office has filed charges against Flores for his involvement in the crime.
