INCIDENT: Deputy Involved Traffic Crash
LOCATION: Westbound Highway 18 / Rimrock Road, Apple Valley, CA.
SUSPECT: Tyrone Hall, 33-year-old adult male from Victorville, CA.
SUMMARY:
On September 8, 2026, at 12:49AM, deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff's Station investigated a traffic crash in the westbound lanes of Highway 18, near Rimrock Road. A deputy positioned his marked patrol vehicle across lanes of traffic with vehicle and emergency lights activated, warning motorists of the lane closure and police activity.
A gray Mercedes SUV, driven by 33-year-old Tyrone Hall of Victorville, was westbound on Highway 18 and collided with the parked Sheriff's unit while the deputy sat in the driver's seat. After the crash, Hall fled the scene on foot but was detained by deputies a short distance away.
The deputy and Hall were both transported to local hospitals, treated for their injuries and released.
Hall was medically cleared from the hospital and he was booked for felony driving under the influence causing injury, and felony hit and run. He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center and is being held on $250,000 bail.
The crash is being investigated by the Sheriff’s department's Major Accident Investigations Team (MAIT).
