Detective Derrick McGinnis with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 37-year-old Charles Patrick English II, of Nebo, with felony to Obtain Property under False Pretense and felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. He was issued a secured bond of $40,000.
On August 19, MCSO Lieutenant Jason Cook spoke with a caller about a family member’s car being stolen and crushed at a local scrap yard without their permission. The caller stated the victim was incarcerated at that time at the McDowell County Detention Center and the car was left on English’s property.
An investigation by Det. McGinnis confirmed that the car had been scrapped at a local business and that English was responsible for the crime.
