Structure Fire Displaces Resident 
ROHNERT PARK, CA - On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at approximately 1:37 p.m., the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (RPDPS) received multiple calls reporting a possible structure fire at a residence on Alta Ave.
The first engine arrived at approximately 1:41 p.m. and crews observed fire coming from the front door and window of the residence. Firefighters began a fire attack and were able to contain the fire to the room of origin and entryway.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation but is believed to have originated from discarded smoking material.
Due to fire and smoke damage throughout the residence, the home was red-tagged and will require further inspection before it can be occupied. Damage is estimated at approximately $250,000.
One resident was displaced and sought accommodation with family.
