MARION WOMAN CHARGED FOR POSSESSION OF METH
Deputy Tre Spearman with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Nichole Faye Bradley, 43, of Marion with felony Possession of Methamphetamine and misdemeanor Simple Possession of a Schedule V Controlled Substance. She was initially denied bond due to already being out on pretrial release.
On Thursday, Sept. 3, Deputy Spearman initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the West Marion area for a traffic violation.
A subsequent search of the vehicle after a positive K9 sniff, turned up a clear plastic bag of numerous yellow pills containing Gabapentin, a suspected amount of methamphetamine, a glass smoking pipe and used syringes.
When medically prescribed, Gabapentin is used as an anticonvulsant or nerve-calming agent. However, it is also used to intensify a “high” when taking illegal narcotics, especially opioids.
The Marion Police Department assisted with the incident.
