AVOID THE AREA: Please be advised that there is a water main break on Raritan Avenue at the intersection of South 4th and 5th Avenues. Southbound Route 27 (Raritan Avenue) is closed due to a large water main break. Expect the closure to last for an extended period.
DETOUR: Southbound traffic will turn right onto North 5th Avenue, left onto Denison Street, left onto North 4th Avenue, then right back onto Route 27. Allow extra travel time or plan an alternate route.
Residents in the area may experience low or no water pressure. Middlesex Water Company and NJDOT crews are on scene. Middlesex Water will issue a boil water advisory if needed. We will post updates as they become available.
