INCIDENT: Homicide Detectives Seeking Information on 2001 Murder of Unidentified Woman
LOCATION: Bessemer Mine Road and S/R 247 in Lucerne Valley

VICTIM(S): Unidentified White or Hispanic Female
SUMMARY:
On Friday, November 2, 2001, deputies responded to the area of Bessemer Mine Road and S/R 247, in Lucerne Valley, after a deceased female was located. Through investigation, deputies determined the female victim had been murdered. The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded and assumed the investigation. Her identification was not established and all leads were exhausted.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s assistance in providing information that may help solve this homicide that has remained unsolved for nearly 25 years. Despite the passage of time, investigators remain committed to seeking justice for the victim. Detectives are renewing their appeal to anyone who may have information about the victim’s identity and the circumstances surrounding the homicide. No matter how insignificant it may seem, investigators are asking you to come forward and help bring answers and accountability to a case that remains open.
The victim is described as a White or Hispanic female, about 100 lbs., and approximately 5’ tall. Her hair was brown or reddish brown, and she was wearing a white, sleeveless shirt, blue jean shorts with a stitched design across the bottom and a navy-blue swimsuit top. The victim had a gold waist chain with gold heart pendant and a silver “GV II” branded wristwatch. The victim had distinctive acrylic fingernails with painted red and yellow flames.
