Through continued investigation, Homicide detectives developed additional information and believe a full-size sport utility vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe or Suburban, was involved in the murder.

On Friday, August 18, 2023, Victor Salazar was located deceased in the area of 25th Street and Center Street, in Rancho Cucamonga. Investigators have developed new leads and are currently seeking information from the public.
Salazar’s photo is being released, and detectives are asking anyone who may have seen Salazar prior to the murder, or anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact Detective Travis Kleveno at (909) 890-4904. SUMMARY:
On Friday, August 18, 2023, at 8:14 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station responded to a report of shots fired in the 10200 block of 25th Street. When deputies arrived, they located the victim, identified as Victor Salazar, in the roadway with a gunshot wound. Salazar was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation.
