A Rosh Hashanah Message from Mayor Tom Giordano
My Dear Neighbors and Friends,
On behalf of the Waldwick Borough Council and myself, I extend our warmest wishes to our Jewish residents, families, friends, and neighbors as they celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.
Rosh Hashanah is a sacred time of reflection, renewal, and hope. It marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a ten-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. Together, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are among the most meaningful and sacred days of the Jewish faith.
As families and communities gather to welcome the New Year, may this season provide an opportunity to reflect upon the year that has passed, give thanks for life's many blessings, and look toward the year ahead with renewed faith and optimism.
May your Rosh Hashanah be filled with meaningful moments, cherished traditions, and memories that will last a lifetime. May Hashem shower His blessings upon you and your loved ones and grant you a year filled with good health, prosperity, peace, and love.
As Rabbi Benjamin Blech reminds us:
“May you replace ease with effort; may you find joy in always scaling new mountains. May you never rest from your pursuit of knowledge. May you desire to always be a little bit better than yesterday and a little bit less than tomorrow. That’s what will make you a whole human being and bring you true happiness.
As we welcome the New Year, may the year ahead bring abundant blessings, happiness, good health, and peace to you and those you hold dear.
L’Shanah Tovah!
Mayor Tom Giordano
