INCIDENT: Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle
LOCATION: Corwin Road / Wintun Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Jeanene Snyder, 36-year-old Female Transient
SUMMARY:
On September 11, 2026, at approximately 9:17 a.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Station were notified of a 2014 Ram pickup that had just been reported stolen in the unincorporated area of Apple Valley near the intersection of Deep Creek Road and Rock Springs Road.
Deputies located the stolen vehicle near Corwin Road and Wintun Road and attempted a traffic stop. The driver failed to yield and led deputies on a pursuit into Barstow. During the pursuit, the vehicle reached speeds of more than 100 mph, crossed into opposing lanes of traffic, and failed to stop for posted traffic control signals. Deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station and Barstow Sheriff's Station, along with officers from the California Highway Patrol, assisted with the pursuit as it continued into Barstow.
The approximately 30-mile pursuit concluded near the intersection of Birch Road and West Main Street in Lenwood, where the driver, identified as Jeanene Snyder, was detained. No injuries were reported as a result of the pursuit.
After Snyder is medically cleared for an unrelated condition, she will be booked for California Vehicle Code 2800.2, Reckless Evading, and Penal Code 496d, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. Snyder will also be booked for two outstanding warrants.
