Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on September 12, 2026, at approximately 0715 hours, Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle motorcycle crash on M 60, just west of Oak Grove Rd., Cassopolis, Jefferson Township, Cass County, Michigan.
Investigation showed that a motorcycle being driven by Michael Armstrong (59yrs old of Decatur, MI) was traveling West on M 60, when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. Due to injuries sustained on scene Armstrong was transported by EMS to Central Cass Fire Dept. where he was then taken by MedFlight to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
It is unknown if a helmet was worn at the time of the crash. This crash is still under investigation.
Assisting Agencies were SMCAS Ambulance, Central Cass Fire, and MedFlight.
