Sheriff Clint Roach reports that on September 13, 2026, at approximately 0654 hours, his Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of M-51 and M-152., Silver Creek Township, Cass County, Michigan.
Investigation shows a vehicle being driven by an Elizabeth Latta (24yrs old of Cambridge, OH) had failed to yield to oncoming traffic when attempting to go east bound, from M-152 to Dewey Lake St., when she was struck by a vehicle heading south bound on M 51, being driven by Jason Jackson (54yrs old of Decatur, MI). Latta and the other two passengers in her vehicle were treated and released from the scene by EMS. Jackson was treated by EMS on scene and released. Jackson's passenger was transported by ambulance to Beacon Dowagiac Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. This crash still remains under investigation.
Assisting Agencies were Pokagon Tribal Police, Dowagiac Police Dept., Sister Lakes Fire Department and SMCAS Ambulance.
