Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below, who took a victim’s personal belongings from his unlocked vehicle on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Surveillance video captured the suspect at 11:17 p.m. entering the victim’s vehicle in the 100 block of 16th Avenue. After taking the victim’s wallet - containing bank cards and cash – the suspect fled the area on a bicycle traveling east on 16th Avenue.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
