Appointments now open for Mayoral Office Hours

Mayor Emily B. Jabbour will host Office Hours on Tuesday,. Sept. 29, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the community room at ResilienCity Park, near 12th and Adams Streets. Mayoral Office Hours aim to provide residents with an opportunity to ask questions and share concerns. 

Appointments are required and can be scheduled by emailing [email protected]. 

Additional Meet the Mayoral Office Hours will be held at different times and locations in the future, providing residents with continued opportunities to connect directly with Mayor Jabbour. 

COVID & Flu Vaccine Clinic Thursday, Sept. 17 

The Hoboken Division of Health is partnering with the Hudson Regional Health Commission to host free COVID-19 and flu vaccine clinics on the second floor of the Multi-Service Center, located at 124 Grand St., every third Thursday of the month. The first clinic will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

COVID-19 vaccines will be available to anyone 65 years old or older, as well as those between 6 months and 64 years old with an underlying medical condition. 

The seasonal flu vaccine will be available to people 3 years old and older. 

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred and can be made at www.HudsonCountyVax.org. 

Virtual community meeting on 1 Henderson Street is Sept. 15 

Residents are reminded to register for a virtual community meeting tomorrow, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m., to learn about and provide feedback on a proposed residential development at 1 Henderson St.   

During the meeting, the project team will present plans for a mixed-use development featuring 160 residential units, including 16 affordable housing units. The proposal also includes 64 parking spaces and a green roof designed to help capture stormwater.  

Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share feedback about the proposal.

Road resurfacing of 13th Street reminder

Milling, paving, and striping operations will continue along portions of 13th Street this week as part of the City’s annual roadway resurfacing program.   

Due to construction, rolling closures of 13th Street to vehicular traffic are scheduled to occur starting at approximately 8 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m. each day. Please note, Temporary No Parking signs have been posted and will take effect starting at 7 a.m. The construction schedule is as follows and is subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen conditions:  

• Monday, Sept. 14: Milling & Paving operations on 13th Street between Washington Street and Garden Street. Please note, 13th Street between Park Avenue and Garden Street will be closed overnight
• Tuesday, Sept. 15: Milling & Paving operations on 13th Street between Bloomfield Street and Park Avenue. Please note, 13th Street between Park Avenue and Garden Street will be closed overnight 
• Wednesday, Sept. 16: Paving operations on 13th Street between Hudson Street and Park Avenue  
• Thursday, Sept. 17 & Friday, Sept. 18: Striping operations of 13th Street between Hudson Street and Park Avenue

Adams Street Lead Service Line Replacement continues

The City of Hoboken’s contractors are continuing the Lead Service Line Replacement Program this week conducting concrete restoration work along Adams Street between Newark and Eighth Streets. The work follows subsurface investigation and testing of water service lines in August.  

Due to construction, rolling closures of Adams Street to vehicular traffic are scheduled to occur each day starting at approximately 8 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m. Please note, Temporary No Parking signs have been posted and will take effect starting at 7 a.m.  

The closure schedule for construction is as follows and is subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances:  

• Monday, Sept. 14: Adams Street between Newark Street and Second Street  
• Tuesday, Sept. 15: Adams Street between First Street and Fourth Street  
• Wednesday, Sept. 16: Adams Street between Fourth Street and Sixth Street  
• Thursday, Sept. 17: Adams Street between Fifth Street and Seventh Street  
• Friday, Sept. 18: Adams Street between Seventh Street and Eighth Street 

Officers will be on site to assist with traffic flow as needed.  

The Lead Service Line Replacement Program is part of the City's ongoing efforts to improve drinking water quality, upgrade the drinking water system, and comply with New Jersey's Lead Service Line Replacement Law.  

While lead is not present in the water leaving the water treatment plant, and there are no lead water mains in Hoboken, properties built before 1986 may have service lines made of materials that contain lead which shall be replaced under the program.
