Fatal Shooting
On September 15, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., officers from the Norton Shores Police Department responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 3200 block of Ingersol Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim in the residence suffering from a gunshot injury. Despite life-saving efforts by Norton Shores Police Department, Norton Shores Fire Department, and Life EMS, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The deceased was a 27-year-old male and a resident of Texas.
There is no threat to the community at this time. Officers and detectives will remain at the scene for several more hours to process the scene with assistance from the Michigan State Crime Laboratory.
In addition to Norton Shores Fire Department and Life EMS, the Michigan State Police also assisted at the scene.
