Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the female suspect pictured below who broke into four vehicles from Friday, August 28, 2026, to Sunday, September 13, 2026.
The suspect, a heavyset woman, entered an unlocked vehicle at approximately 12:40 a.m. in the 500 block of 18th Avenue on August 28, 2026, and took a MacBook Pro computer and iPad.
A week later, on Friday, September 4, 2026, she took ear pods and a driver’s license from a vehicle at 12:05 a.m. in the 30 block of Holland Street. On Sunday, September, 6, 2026, the suspect rummaged through a victim’s vehicle at approximately 5 p.m. and took $18 from the center console.
And on Sunday, September 13, 2026, the suspect ransacked a victim’s vehicle at approximately 3 a.m. in the 200 block of 17th Avenue.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
