Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges following an investigation.
On September 10th, members of the Safe Streets Task Force initiated a firearm investigation into 18-year-old Muhommad Tucker Jr. At approximately 11:00 a.m., officers were in the 2800 block of North Tatnall Street when they observed Tucker acting suspiciously. Officers attempted to make contact with Tucker, at which time he fled the area on foot. A short time later, Tucker was located and taken into custody without further incident. Officers recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number.
Tucker Jr. has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited- Two Counts
- Possession of a Weapon with a Obliterated Serial Number
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $34,000 cash-only bail.
