Deputy Hunter Clay Kirby with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 31-year-old Donovan Samuel Wilson of Old Fort with felony Possession with Intent to Sell, Manufacture or Deliver Marijuana and felony Possession of a Controlled Substance on Jail Premises. He was issued a secured bond of $30,000.
On Saturday, Sept. 5, MCSO deputies initiated a traffic stop on Rutherford Rd. in Marion. Wilson was a passenger in the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the car turned up 48.49 grams of marijuana. Wilson was placed under arrest and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center.
During booking, McDowell County Detention Center Sergeant Marcus Moreau confiscated an additional 3 grams of marijuana after a body scanner detected the drug on Wilson. He was charged with the additional felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance on Jail Premises.
