When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street. Statistics are captured at the time each Crime Bulletin is written; additional cases may be reported at a later time.
  
 
Robberies
 
There were three robberies and one attempted robbery during the past week.
 
On Wednesday, 09-09-26, at approximately 4:08 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Bart Grocery store located on the 100 block of Los Olivos Avenue on a report of a fight in the store. The suspect entered the store, and an altercation over the purchase of bags ensued. During the altercation, the suspect assaulted the victim. The suspect, a 24-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury.
 
On Thursday, 09-10-26, during the evening hours, near Morton Drive and Simpson Drive, a victim had her cell phone forcefully taken by a known suspect. On 09-11-26, the suspect, a 22-year-old Richmond resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery and other offenses.
 
On Friday, 09-11-26, at approximately 4:00 p.m., on the 2400 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard, a victim had her cell phone taken by force by a known suspect. The suspect, a 16-year-old Daly City resident, was arrested and booked into the Youth Services Center for robbery, burglary, and other offenses.
 
On Monday, 09-07-26, at approximately 2:44 a.m., a victim stated that as he and a friend were walking on School Street near Station Avenue, they were attacked by two suspects. The suspects attempted to take the victim’s wallet and then cut the victim’s hand with a knife when he refused to give them his belongings. After the victim sustained the cut, the suspects ran eastbound on School Street. The friend appeared intoxicated and sustained lacerations to his arm but did not know where or how he sustained them. The victim stated that the suspect with the knife had shoulder-length hair and was wearing a tight black sweatshirt, black jeans, and a face covering that covered the lower portion of the face. The suspect was also carrying a black, foldable pocketknife. The victim was unable to provide a description of the second suspect.
 
 
Residential Burglaries
 
There was one residential burglary and one attempted residential burglary during the past week.
 
On Friday, 09-11-26, at approximately 7:49 p.m., on the 400 block of Palmcrest Drive, a known suspect opened a window, reached inside, grabbed the victim’s cell phone, and fled. The suspect, a 16-year-old Daly City resident, was arrested and booked into the Youth Services Center for robbery, burglary, and other offenses. This incident is mentioned in the same report as the robbery incident that occurred earlier that day.
 
On Saturday, 09-12-26, at approximately 8:24 p.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of Brandon Court on a report of multiple people attempting to break into a residence. The victims stated that, due to a prior conflict, the suspects arrived at the residence. The first known suspect attempted to kick open the door, causing damage. A second known suspect jumped on a vehicle, causing damage, and then pointed a firearm with a green laser at one of the victims through the rear sliding glass door from the backyard of the residence. The victim heard police sirens and believed the suspects had left to avoid police contact. The next day, the first suspect, a 20-year-old Daly City resident who attempted to kick open the door, was arrested during a traffic stop and booked into jail for attempted residential burglary and vandalism. This investigation is ongoing.
 
 
Commercial Burglaries
 
There were no commercial burglaries during the past week.
 
 
Vehicle Burglaries   
 
There was one vehicle burglary during the past week.
 

• School Street and Station Avenue—parcels were taken from a USPS truck. The driver’s side window was smashed. Occurred on 09-12-26 at approximately 12:09 p.m.

 
 
Stolen Vehicles 
 
There were three vehicle thefts during the past week. Three vehicles were recovered.
 

• Unit block of Victoria Street—a theft of a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. Occurred on 09-07-26 at approximately 1:02 a.m. **Recovered by DCPD on 09-07-26.

 

• 500 block of Gellert Boulevard—a theft of a 2016 Kia Rio. Occurred between 2:00 p.m. on 09-12-26 and 12:20 p.m. on 09-13-26.  **Recovered by SFPD on 09-13-26.

 

• Unit block of First Avenue—a theft of a 2011 Hyundai Elantra. Occurred on 09-13-26 between 3:30 p.m. and 3:39 p.m.  **Recovered by SFPD on 09-13-26.

Miscellaneous
 

• There were 128 cases taken.

 

• There were 6 domestic disturbance cases reported.

 

• There were 4 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.

 

• There were 3 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.

 

• There were 0 cases of public intoxication.

 

• There were 4 hit-and-run collisions reported.

City of Daly City Advises Residents to Be Aware of Fraudulent Water Testing Solicitations
 
DALY CITY, CA — The City of Daly City is advising residents to be aware of fraudulent phone calls or visits claiming that the City's drinking water is contaminated.
 
The City recently received a report from a resident who was contacted by an individual claiming to be a contractor offering to test the resident's water for contamination. The caller suggested they were aware of a contamination issue affecting the property.
 
The Department of Water & Wastewater Resources confirms there are no known issues affecting Daly City's drinking water. The City's drinking water continues to meet or exceed all state and federal drinking water quality standards and remains safe for drinking and everyday use.
 
Residents should be aware that:

• The City does not hire contractors to contact residents unsolicited to test drinking water for contamination.
• If there were a legitimate concern affecting the public water supply, the City would notify impacted customers through official communication channels, such as direct notifications, the City's website, social media, and other emergency notification methods, as appropriate.
• Residents should exercise caution before providing personal information, allowing unknown individuals onto their property, or purchasing services based on unsolicited claims.

 
If you receive a suspicious call or visit regarding your drinking water, the City recommends that you:

• Decline the unsolicited offer.
• Verify any claims by contacting the Department of Water & Wastewater Resources directly at (650) 991-8200.
• Report suspected fraud to your local law enforcement agency if appropriate.

Catalytic Converter Etch and Protect Program
 
The Daly City Police Department is combating catalytic converter theft by providing 500 CatGuard etching label kits to the first 500 Daly City residents who complete a registration form. Once 500 completed registration forms have been submitted, the registration process will cease. Please note, one label kit per household. 
 
Each resident will be notified via email or phone call if you qualify for the label kit. Residents will be provided with a date, time and location of where the kit can be picked up. During the time of pick up, the resident will need to show proof of current residence (i.e., identification and/or utility bill). If you have any questions, please call 650-991-8119. Sandbags Available While Supplies Last
 
Sandbags are accessible 24/7 at two locations for residents with proof of residency:

- Department of Public Works (Corporation Yard entrance) - 798 Niantic Ave.  
Limit 10. Please take only what is needed as supplies are limited. When filling sandbags, fill them only halfway, so they are not too heavy to lift and will stack properly.
