Child Pornography Arrest
Yesterday, members of the Janesville Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit and Detective Bureau arrested Michael Washburn near the intersection of Moreland Drive and Myra Avenue following a thorough investigation into allegations of child exploitation.
In July 2025, the Janesville Police Department Detective Bureau received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Following the receipt of the cybertip, investigators obtained and served multiple search warrants and subpoenas on internet and electronic service providers. Through the investigation, Michael Washburn was identified as a suspect.
Investigators subsequently executed a residential search warrant in the 2000 block of Myra Avenue. Numerous electronic devices were collected from the residence as part of the investigation.
Washburn was arrested on one count of Possession of Child Pornography. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office pending his initial court appearance.
