Today, members of the Janesville Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit and Detective Bureau arrested Ross Kirchner in the 100 block of Falling Creek Circle following a thorough investigation into allegations of child exploitation. During his arrest, three cellphones were seized as evidence.
In August 2025, the Janesville Police Department Detective Bureau received numerous cybertips from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). Following the receipt of the cybertips, investigators obtained and served multiple search warrants and subpoenas on internet and electronic service providers. Through the investigation, Ross Kirchner was identified as a suspect.
Kirchner was arrested for ten counts of Possession of Child Pornography. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office pending his initial court appearance.
