Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the Jackson Street Bridge, spanning the Passaic River between Newark and Harrison, will be closed during the designated hours below due to scheduled repair work:
• Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, September 18th to 5 a.m. Sunday, September 20, 2026
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding any criminal activity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
