At 643 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms extending from 11 miles south of Variadero to 8 miles west of Sumner Lake, moving east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Fort Sumner, Newkirk, Cuervo, Montoya, Sumner Lake State Park, Sumner Lake and Puerto De Luna. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 279 and 325. Highway 60 between Mile Markers 317 and 331. State Road 104 between Mile Markers 60 and 61...and between Mile Markers 65 and 67...and near Mile Marker 69.
