...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois, including
the following areas, in north central Illinois, La Salle. In
northeast Illinois, Eastern Will, Grundy, Kankakee and Southern
Will.
* WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Underpasses may be
flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected late this
evening and overnight. Swaths of heavy to very heavy rainfall
with 2+ inch per hour rainfall rates are likely to occur within
the watch area and may result in areas of flash flooding and
cause rapid rises on area rivers, creeks, and streams.

A Flood Watch for flash flooding means rapid-onset flooding is
possible, but not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Flash
flooding is a dangerous situation. Persons with interests along area
rivers, creeks, and other waterways should monitor the latest
forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
