Redwood City, California – On 9/18/2026, and 9/19/2026 there were three (3) people who were assessed for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and no one was arrested at the DUI checkpoints.
The DUI checkpoints were held at Woodside Rd near Carolina Ave from 7:30 p.m. to 02:00 a.m.
There were 4 drivers who were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed, and 5 other drivers were cited for various moving violations. There were approximately 591 vehicles contacted/screened at the checkpoint.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of the DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
