Rohnert Park, Calif. — September 21, 2026 — The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety conducted a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on September 18, 2026, at Rohnert Park Expressway and the SMART Tracks. The checkpoint operated from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
During the operation, more than 1,000 vehicles were contacted. One driver was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), while another driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license for DUI. That driver was also found to have three outstanding warrants.
Seven drivers were cited for driving without a valid driver’s license. In total, eight drivers were cited for operating a vehicle without a valid license or with a suspended or revoked license.
DUI checkpoints are conducted at locations determined through an analysis of reported impaired-driving-related crashes and other traffic-safety data. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by educating the public, while also identifying and removing suspected impaired drivers from the roadway.

No vehicles were towed during this operation. All cited drivers were allowed to have a valid, licensed driver drive their vehicles home.
