* WHEN...Until this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Low areas, campground, and private camps along the river between Athens and Coolville begin to flood. Much of the city of Athens is protected up to 26 feet by levees. In Nelsonville, the baseball field adjacent to Lake Hope Drive floods.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:15 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 19.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.2 feet early this morning. It will then fall below flood stage this morning. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.1 feet on 02/10/2019. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
