Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted man on gun charges.
On September 17th at approximately 9:30 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 1000 block of North Lombard Street where they observed 38-year-old Kendall Gardner. Officers confirmed Gardner had an outstanding warrant out of the Wilmington Police Department. Officers observed Gardner enter a parked vehicle in the 1000 block of North Lombard Street. Officers made contact with Gardner and took him into custody without incident. Subsequently, officers executed a search warrant on the vehicle and recovered a loaded .9mm handgun.
Gardner has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrant:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Possession of a Weapon with an Obliterated Serial Number
He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $20,000 cash-only bail.
