| Narrative: |
Thousand Oaks, Calif. – On September 18th, 2026, a DUI/ Driver’s License Checkpoint was held at Lynn Road, west of Green Meadow Ave. from 7:00 PM to 01:00 AM.
A total of 611 drivers were contacted. Ten drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with license violations. Two drivers were cited for moving violations. Twenty-six drivers were checked for impairment using field sobriety standard tests (SFSTs).
One driver, (S) Misnabte, Jorge was arrested for a local misdemeanor warrant for a violation of probation. Misnabte was on probation for a prior DUI and driving on a suspended license.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and areas of high traffic accident occurrences. The primary purpose of a DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
