On September 23, 2026, at approximately 1:38 p.m., Fremont Police officers responded to a report of a major injury collision involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle at the intersection of Hastings Street and Keats Street. Officers and first responders arrived at the scene, located the unresponsive motorcyclist, and provided life-saving efforts. The motorist was transported to a local trauma center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the passenger vehicle was uninjured.
The Fremont Police Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation into the collision. Preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Hastings Street, and the passenger vehicle was making a left turn from Keats Street onto southbound Hastings Street. The two collided at the intersection of Hastings Street and Keats Street.
The cause of the collision is under investigation. The driver of the passenger vehicle remained on scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation.
This is Fremont’s tenth fatal traffic collision in 2026.
