Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance regarding a homicide investigation. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at approximately 12:25 AM, on the 14100 block of Shoemaker Avenue in the city of Norwalk.
 
Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Erick Velasco Rodriguez. He is possibly driving a silver 2020 Honda Civic, CA license plate #9EMS438.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male adult. 

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at approximately 12:25 AM, on the 13000 block of Rosecrans Avenue in the city of Norwalk.
 
Deputies from Norwalk Sheriff’s Station responded to the 13000 block of Rosecrans Avenue in the city of Norwalk regarding a report of a possible assault with a deadly weapon at the location.  Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle behind the location that had collided with a planter and electrical box.   They located the victim in the driver’s seat, suffering from numerous gunshot wounds to the upper torso.  Deputies immediately began life-saving measures.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there is no additional information available at this time.
