NYC Emergency Management reminds New Yorkers that as of September 13th, all NYC public beaches are closed to swimming and lifeguards are not on duty. Coastal flooding has been forecast for the weekend, 9/25 to 9/27. These conditions may result in rip currents, localized beach erosion and wash-overs. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from the shore into deeper water.
