National Weather Service Issues Coastal Flood Advisory From 6PM Today Through 6PM Sunday and a Wind Advisory From 2PM Today Through 6AM Sunday
Fair Lawn Emergency Management is monitoring a Nor’easter that will affect our area starting later tonight through Monday morning. Rain will continue on and off through Monday morning. The heaviest rain and wind will occur Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Total rainfall is expected to be around 2 -3 inches for the entire event.
Runoff may result in minor flash flooding of rivers, small creeks, streams, and other low lying and flood prone locations. Urban flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is likely.
Moderate tidal flooding is possible for this event, especially the Southern end of the Hackensack and Passaic Rivers. This may occur starting with this evening’s high tide and continue through Saturday evening’s high tide.
Winds will be 15-20 mph, with gusts to 45 mph. Winds may cause down tree limbs, resulting in power outages.
