SUSPECT(S): Matthew Stryffeler, 40-year-old Resident of Yucaipa
VICTIM(S): Forest Home Camp, Forest Falls
SUMMARY: In December of 2025, Yucaipa Station detectives began investigating allegations claiming former Forrest Home Camp employee, Matthew Stryffeler, embezzled a large sum of money from the organization. Over several months, detectives conducted interviews and issued search warrants for financial records, which ultimately revealed that Stryffeler created a fictitious business, Kanvast Merch, to buy and sell high-value sports memorabilia using money he embezzled from Forrest Home Camp's financial accounts.
According to Forrest Home records, Stryffeler held various positions at the organization and had authorized access to the company’s financial accounts. Through investigation, investigators learned Stryffeler embezzled more than $300,000 from the Forrest Home Camp, and that the embezzlement spanned over seven years. At the end of the investigation, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Stryffeler.
On September 22, 2026, investigators served a search warrant at Stryffeler’s Yucaipa home and took him into custody without incident.
