FLOODING UPDATE

New Jersey Avenue and Pacific Avenue have reopened to vehicle traffic.

Park Boulevard remains closed from Cardinal Road south, and Lake Road remains closed. The George Redding Bridge (Wildwood) and North Wildwood Bridge also remain closed at this time. The Middle Thorofare Bridge remains the only point of ingress and egress to and from the island.

Although several roadways have reopened, we ask that everyone limit unnecessary vehicular travel. Crews will be working throughout the Borough to clear debris and clean roadways following the flooding. Limiting traffic will allow these crews to work safely and efficiently and will help reduce congestion on the limited route on and off the island.

Please do not move, drive around, or otherwise bypass barricades or road closures. Barricades are in place for your safety, and conditions beyond a closure may be hazardous.

Please continue to use caution while traveling. Although floodwaters have receded in many areas, debris remains on some roadways and cleanup efforts are ongoing.

Another significant round of coastal flooding is expected with tonight’s high-tide cycle around 9:00 PM. While current forecasts indicate water levels may be slightly lower than this morning, major flooding remains possible, particularly in low-lying and back-bay areas. The National Weather Service continues a Coastal Flood Warning for our area.

Residents and visitors with vehicles in low-lying or flood-prone areas should move them to higher ground well in advance of tonight’s high tide.

Do not drive through flooded roadways. Water may be deeper than it appears, and conditions can change quickly.
