INCIDENT: Trespassing/ Suspected Theft/ Resisting Arrest
LOCATION: 200 Block of Starvation Flats Road, Big Bear Lake
SUSPECT(S): David Finucane, 55-year-old Resident of Los Angeles

SUMMARY: On Friday, September 25, 2026, at approximately 11:48 p.m., deputies from the Big Bear Sheriff's Station received a call for service of a verbal disturbance outside a hotel room. The victim returned to his hotel room and discovered an unknown male, later identified as David Finucane, inside the bedroom. The victim ran out of his hotel room and called 911.
Upon arrival, deputies contacted Finucane near the hotel room door. Finucane ran back inside the hotel room and locked the door. Deputies attempted to negotiate with Finucane, but he refused to open the door. Deputies heard Finucane manipulating the victim's property inside the hotel room. Deputies forced entry into the room and contacted Finucane, who refused several commands and resisted arrest.
During the investigation, a vehicle near the hotel room was found with the rear passenger door open and appeared to have been ransacked. Finucane wore two watches on his wrists, suspected to be stolen, and investigators believe he burglarized additional vehicles before trespassing into the hotel room.
Deputies arrested Finucane for violations of Penal Code 602 - Trespassing and Penal Code 69 - Resisting an Executive Officer.
