Cranford OEM Update - Nor'Easter impacts and ongoing monitoring.
The first round of heavy rain passed overnight, bringing about 1.3 inches so far, and wind gusts peaked near 47 mph early this morning.
The National Weather Service has a Wind Advisory in effect until noon today. Expect gusts of 40 to 45 mph this morning, easing this afternoon. Lighter rain continues through about 2 PM. A second round arrives this afternoon and continues overnight, with the heaviest downpours and possibly a few thunderstorms most likely this evening.
Another 1 to 1.5 inches is expected, for a storm total of about 2.5 inches. Downpours this evening could cause flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas. Rain tapers to showers Monday morning. Please use the break this morning to clear leaves from storm drains near your home, and charge your devices in case of outages. Never drive through flooded roads, and stay away from downed trees and wires. We will continue to monitor conditions and post updates. DPW crews are mobilized to respond to reports of downed trees.
