The Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management is actively monitoring storm-related conditions throughout the Township and is aware of the remaining power outages.
Continues rain and strong winds earlier today resulted in several downed trees, wires, and power outages. Monroe Township OEM, Police, Fire, DPW, and our utility partners continue to monitor conditions and address storm-related issues as they arise.
Current Update:
• Spotswood Englishtown Road and Perrineville Road have been reopened.
• Federal Road remains closed due to a downed tree and power lines.
Please avoid the area and use an alternate route.
• Power has been restored to most of the Township; however, approximately 58 residences remain without power at this time.
Please continue to use caution:
• Never drive through a flooded roadway. Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• Never approach or touch a downed wire. Always assume it is energized.
• Use generators outdoors only and well away from windows, doors, and vents to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
• Secure or avoid any loose outdoor objects while windy conditions continue.
