Delaware County continues to celebrate our nation's 250th Birthday with a salute to those who have served our nation in the most significant way possible. Delaware County is honored to have so many veterans who have served both during times of peace and in times of war. All the sacrifices our veterans and their families have made to keep our country safe through the generations have not gone unnoticed.
To capture this moment in history as part of our 250th celebration, Delaware County is inviting all veterans from across Delaware County to come together in Delhi on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. for photos to be taken in front of the Soldiers Monument at Courthouse Square. If it rains, we will gather for photographs at the Delhi American Legion Post located at 41 Page Avenue in Delhi.
Please help spread the word. They are encouraging all members of Delaware County’s American Legion posts, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion (SAL), American Legion Riders, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and any veteran who doesn’t officially belong to an organization to participate. Their goal is to capture our county’s veterans’ organizations and county veterans as a keepsake. Each organization will receive an individual post picture and a consolidated photo to take back to their respective organization. Additionally, every veteran will be given a commemorative coin specifically designed for Delaware County’s 250th celebrations.
