The Fairfield Water Dept. will be conducting routine fire hydrant flushing throughout the township starting 9/28/26 through 10/2/26. From 8pm. To 12am.
Hydrant flushing is necessary to maintain the water distribution system, remove sediment and buildup from water mains, and ensure that the fire hydrants are operating properly.
During this work, residents may temporarily experience the following:
DISCOLORED OR CLOUDY WATER
REDUCED WATER PRESSURE
TEMPORARY WATER DISTURBANCES
If you experience discolored water, please run your cold water faucet for several minutes until water runs clear. Avoid doing laundry while hydrant flushing is taking place, as discolored water may stain clothing.
The water remains safe for normal use; however, residents should allow the water to run clear before use.
