The Central Marin Police Authority (CMPA) recently responded to two juvenile house parties where officers discovered minors consuming alcohol, including several juveniles who were heavily intoxicated. Both incidents resulted in the responsible parties being issued citations for misdemeanor violations.
CMPA maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward underage drinking. The safety of our youth remains a top priority, and we will continue to aggressively enforce laws designed to prevent alcohol-related harm among minors.
Juveniles, parents, guardians, and property owners should understand that allowing underage drinking on their property can result in arrest, citations, and/or fines of up to $1,000. A Social Host citation will be issued each time a violation occurs.
Parents are encouraged to have frank conversations with their children about the dangers and legal consequences of alcohol use. CMPA appreciates the community's partnership in keeping our neighborhoods safe.
