IMPORTANT ABSENTEE BALLOT UPDATE
Sumpter Township voters: Please note an important update about absentee ballots for the upcoming election.
Absentee ballots were mailed beginning September 24th. On September 28th, Wayne County Elections notified Belleville, Sumpter, and Van Buren Township of a printing error on the ballots. An omission had been identified involving the Belleville Area District Library Board portion of the ballot. This omission affects all absentee voters in Belleville, Sumpter, and Van Buren.
A corrected absentee ballot will be mailed as soon as the new ballots are printed. When you receive a new ballot in the mail, please watch for additional instructions included with your ballot.
The Sumpter Township Clerk’s Office is working to ensure voters have the information they need. We will share additional details as soon as they are available.
