INCIDENT: Residential Burglary
LOCATION: 13000 block of Rincon Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT: Austin Friou, 26-year-old male, Resident of Adelanto
SUMMARY: On September 28, 2026, at about 4:17 a.m., deputies with the Apple Valley Station responded to a residence in the 13000 block of Rincon Road regarding an unknown problem.
Through the investigation, deputies determined Austin Friou attempted to enter the residence by kicking the front door. When he was unsuccessful, Friou dove head-first through a glass door, causing the door to become unsecured. Friou entered the residence and then fled through the back door.
As deputies arrived on scene, they located Friou on the roof of a neighboring residence. Friou was taken into custody without incident.
Friou was found to be under the influence and in possession of a controlled substance.
Friou was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for PC 459 – Burglary, HS 11377(a) – Possession of a Controlled Substance, and HS 11550(a) – Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. Friou is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
The victims did not know Friou, and the incident appears to be an isolated event.
