Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Gloucester Township Police Investigate Serious Motor Vehicle Crash on Black Horse Pike
On Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at approximately 10:41 p.m., officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department responded to the area of Black Horse Pike (State Highway 168) and Almonesson Road for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash.
Based on the preliminary investigation, a Toyota Venza was traveling southbound on Black Horse Pike when it entered the northbound lane and struck the rear of a Honda Accord. The impact caused the Honda Accord to spin before coming to rest along the roadway.
The Toyota Venza continued through the intersection of Black Horse Pike and Almonesson Road, left the roadway, struck a utility pole guide wire, landscaping, and a freestanding brick business sign with an electronic display before overturning and coming to rest in the parking lot of a nearby business. Both vehicles sustained significant damage as a result of the crash.
The occupants of the Toyota Venza were extricated by firefighters from the Blenheim Fire Department, with assistance from Virtua Paramedics and Inspira Basic Life Support Emergency Medical Technicians. Both occupants were transported by ambulance to a local medical center for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the Honda Accord reported no injuries at the scene.
The circumstances and cause of the crash remain under investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit’s Serious Crash Investigation Team.
The identities of those involved are being withheld at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
