On Thursday September 10, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Harper Woods Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of E. Vernier west of Beaconsfield. Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined that the striking vehicle was traveling the wrong way on E. Vernier when it collided with the other vehicle. Probable cause existed to arrest the driver of the striking vehicle for operating while intoxicated. Each vehicle involved in the accident was occupied by the driver only. There were no significant injuries reported at the scene.
On Wednesday September 30, 2026, Lariah Janae Stevens, a 32 year old Clinton Township resident, was arraigned in 32-A District Court on the following charges:
1-Operating While Intoxicated-Hi BAC
2-Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated
3-Drove Wrong Way on a One Way Street
Stevens was given a 1,000.00 personal bond with conditions which include not consuming alcohol or using illegal drugs, and not to possess or purchase a firearm.
Stevens has a Pretrial date scheduled for October 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in 32-A District Court.
