Summary:

Bike to Hope is an annual bicycle race that departs from Lagunitas Brewery (1280 N McDowell Blvd) on Friday, October 16th.  There will be three individual races, a 65-mile, 35-mile and 10-mile course.  The starting times of the three races are 08:00 am, 09:30 am, and 10:00 am.  All three races will depart Lagunitas Brewery and proceed northbound on N. McDowell Blvd.

For the start of each race, a brief shutdown of northbound N. McDowell Blvd (at Lagunitas Brewery) will be performed to safely escort groups of riders onto N. McDowell Blvd.  Each ride will continue northbound on N. McDowell Blvd and turn eastbound onto Old Redwood Highway.  Riders will continue eastbound on Old Redwood Highway beyond city limits.  For each race, traffic control will occur at the intersection of Old Redwood Highway and N. McDowell Blvd to help accommodate the cyclists safe turn onto Old Redwood Highway.

Industrial Ave, Corona Rd, and N McDowell Blvd will be used by cyclists returning to Petaluma.  The races end back at Lagunitas Brewery (1280 N McDowell Blvd).

The Bike to Hope race is a ‘follow the rules of the road’ ride.  The Petaluma Police Department will monitor the intersections of Corona Rd at Industrial Ave, and Corona Rd at N McDowell Blvd for large groups of cyclists.  Petaluma Police Officers will provide traffic control at the intersections as needed to safely assist large groups of cyclists through the intersections.

The Petaluma Police Department asks that all motorists to please pay extra attention and use caution when driving in this area.  The police department will be working this event to reasonably accommodate any traffic related issues.  Petaluma Police Department appreciates the public’s patience and requests those who cannot avoid the area to allow plenty of time for travel.
