MCCARTER PARK PLAYGROUND ANNOUNCEMENT
McCarter Park
Jake’s Law- Inclusive Playground
Construction Begins Oct. 7
The Borough of Fair Haven is thrilled to announce that construction on the new McCarter Park Inclusive Playground will officially begin on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. It is anticipated that the project will be substantially complete in approximately 4 months, weather permitting.
This transformative project features a fully inclusive playground and surrounding site improvements, funded largely through the NJ DEP Jake’s Law Playground Grant, alongside Borough funding and generous PTA fundraising efforts.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Fair Haven community. Your valuable feedback gathered from surveys, Rec Committee and Council Meeting discussions, and public open houses over the past few years was instrumental in shaping this vision.
We are working in close partnership with the Fair Haven Board of Education to complete this project safely and efficiently while minimizing disruption to student recess. Starting this project as soon as possible was identified as a priority by the BOE so that we can open the new playground as early as possible for our current students.
Please read the letter below from Superintendent Sean McNeil for details on park access, safety boundaries, and recess arrangements during construction.
Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements. We can’t wait to share this new inclusive playground with all of our Fair Haven families.
