Protecting Clayton County Voters & Keeping Our Polls Safe

Official Message to the Citizens of Clayton County
I have received messages and concerns from citizens, election officials, and elected leaders asking whether the citizens of Clayton County will be safe when they go to the polls.
My answer is clear: The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office will do everything within our authority to protect the safety of every citizen exercising their right to vote.
It does not matter who you support, what political party you belong to, or how you choose to cast your ballot. Public safety belongs to everyone.
No citizen should be afraid to go to the polls because of threats, intimidation, harassment, violence, or fear of being harmed.
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office will work in coordination with the Clayton County Police Department and municipal police departments throughout Clayton County to help maintain a safe environment for our citizens during the election period and on Election Day.
We will not tolerate violence, threats, intimidation, or unlawful conduct directed toward citizens exercising their right to vote.
We have your back, Clayton County.
But there is something I need you to do today.
Today, October 5, 2026, is the voter registration deadline for the November General Election.
Please take a few minutes today to make sure you are registered and that your name, address, and voter information are correct.
Georgia voters can check their registration information through the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page:
https://mvp.sos.ga.gov
If you need voter registration assistance, you may also call or text the Voter Protection Hotline:
888-730-5816
Do not wait until Election Day to discover an issue with your registration.
Check it today. Register if you are eligible. Verify your information. Know your polling location.
And when it is time to exercise your right to vote, know that your law enforcement agencies will be working together to help keep Clayton County safe.
This message is not about politics. This message is about public safety, your rights, and making sure every citizen of Clayton County can participate in the election process without fear.
