Grand Terrace High School Placed on a Precautionary Lockdown Following an Anonymous Threat

SUMMARY: Grand Terrace High School was placed on a precautionary lockdown following an anonymous threat made toward the campus. Deputies, with assistance from local law enforcement agencies, searched the campus and determined the school was safe.
On October 5, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., an anonymous caller reported that destructive devices had been placed at Grand Terrace High School. In response, school administrators immediately placed the campus on lockdown as a precaution to protect students and staff.
Deputies responded to the school along with law enforcement partners from the Riverside Police Department, Ontario Police Department, Redlands Police Department, and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Together, they conducted a thorough search of the campus.
No suspicious items, weapons, or destructive devices were located during the search, and investigators found no evidence of a credible threat to the campus. The incident remains under investigation.
The lockdown was lifted at approximately 5:30 p.m. Deputies remained on campus to assist with a safe and orderly student dismissal and pickup.
