Advisory
32-Gallon Container Ordinance for All Collections - Effective 12/1/26
Effective December 1**:
- All garbage, bulk trash and recyclables must be placed in covered 32-gallon receptacles.
- Loose plastic garbage bags placed directly at the curb will no longer be permitted.
**Exceptions: Paper recycling may be placed in uncovered bins or yard waste bags. Monthly bulk trash that cannot fit into a receptacle can be placed curbside in contractor bags or uncovered (for large objects).
Why the Change? Employee Safety. DPW employees have been injured while lifting larger containers, have cut their hands on sharp objects while reaching into oversized containers to remove plastic bags manually and the larger cans cannot be lifted by just one person.

Reuse it Before you Toss it. Before you throw out an old trash container, give it a second life around your home, yard, garage or garden. Sell it on Facebook Market place or donate it to another community. Click HERE to Reduce Waste.
NOTE: The 32-gallon maximum size is already in effect for household trash.
